GUIGUINTO, BULACAN - Last September 13, five seminarians of the Diocese of Malolos were ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons. Sem. Daniel Maniego Coronel, a recent graduate from the Immaculate Conception Major Seminary was ordained a deacon together with his four companions by the Most Rev. Jose F. Oliveros, D.D., Bishop of Malolos at the seminary Theologate Chapel at 9:00 in the morning.

In his homily, the Bishop instructed the deacons on the importance of their ministry - to be helpful to him and to the institutions of apostolate they were about to serve and to preach God's Word. The Bishop also pointed out the importance of their vow to celibacy, that they will no longer be saying during their presbyteral ordination since promising not to marry is already part of the Diaconal Ordination.

After the Mass, members of KAKATHA together with the clergy of Malolos, seminarians and guests had lunch at the seminary gymnasium. Some of those who attended from KAKATHA in the celebration were Rev. Fr. Vicente Burayag Lina, Jr. (Sto. Niño), President Emeritus of KAKATHA, Rev. Fr. Manuel Martin Manicad, (San Sebastian), Episcopal Vicar for Religious, Rev. Fr. Garry Medina Clemente (San Juan), Rev. Fr. Edward Cruz Pecson (Sta. Monica), Rev. Fr. Enrico Cruz Crisostomo (Sto. Rosario) and Rev. Fr. Elmer Roque Ignacio (Tampok).

Rev. Daniel Maniego Coronel is the son of Danilo (+) and Soccoro Maniego Coronel from Mercado, Hagonoy, Bulacan. He is from the Parish of Nuestra Señora del Santisimo Rosario, Sto. Rosario, Hagonoy, Bulacan. In the duration of their diaconal ministry, the five deacons are assigned monthly to different houses of apostolate and will be serving in several parishes in the Diocese.  KAKATHA News Admin.
