MARIKINA CITY - On the occasion of his 70th birth anniversary (see earlier article) , Rev. Msgr. Sabino A. Vengco, Jr. (San Jose) launched two new books available at different stores nationwide. He first launched a coffee table book entitled A Priest at Seventy: A Continuing Service published by GPV Printing Ventures Co. and co-edited by Ms. Editha C. Reyes. This memoir contains Msgr. Vengco’s early life with his inspiring story on how he became a priest and Mary’s involvement in his life as a servant of God. Also included in these memoirs are articles that he has compiled from the different works he has made through the years together with works made for him by several authors. Greetings from the different universities and seminaries where he taught and still teaching were included in this book. Messages included were that of the following: Rev. Msgr. Hernando M. Coronel (Rector, San Carlos Seminary), Rev. Fr. Enrico C. Eusebio, Jr., S.J. (Dean, Loyola School of Theology) Rev. Msgr. Andres S. Valera (Rector, Immaculate Conception Major Seminary), Rev. Fr. Rolando V. Dela Rosa, O.P. (Rector Magnificus, University of Santo Tomas) and Rev. Fr. Emilio Edgardo A. Quilatan (Dean, Recoletos School of Theology).
He also launched a book on catechism which was a compilation of speeches and answers he gave during symposia entitled Itanong Kay Monsi published by St. Paul’s. This book serves as a good reference for several questions on our Catholic faith and practices. Even at the age of 70, Msgr. Vengco still proves his endurance as a servant of the Lord and priest who is continuing his ministry despite of old age. KAKATHA News Admin.
